Halloween At The Supermarket 2021 // Halloween With Hannah

I published a post like this back in 2018 and it was the most read Halloween post that year. Unfortunately in 2019 I was unwell and with COVID-19 locking down 2020, it's effects are still carrying on a small level of uncertainty in 2021.
So, whether you are trick or treating, throwing / going to a Halloween party or just having a small gathering, looking at the supermarkets for Halloween is one of the best routes to go.
Supermarkets have everything from confectionary to costumes and I find they tend to be the best first option where you can buy everything in one place. I've again, compiled three categories; best for costumes, best for Halloween inspired clothing and best for party decor and treats. I've assigned each category to a different supermarket and when choosing I considered prices, locations and stock levels.

For Halloween Costumes - Sainsburys

Sainsburys is again, the best place. The brand have a partnership with Argos so from childrens to adults, you have the option of affordable and licenced costumes.
As you can see from the image above, it's very simple costuming and doesn't break the bank. The most expensive I found was a licenced costume at £35.00 that came with accessories too. I like you have the option to go traditional Halloween characters or have a film inspired outfit like the Jack Skellington onesie. I also found Sainsburys (in their own line) were the most size inclusive.

For Halloween Inspired Clothing - ASDA

It's no surprise. I feel ASDA always have the best range of festive and holiday clothing. This year, they've thought even more out the bag.
With family and friend matching sweatshirts and PJS and even adding film and TV licenced items, they've not gone overboard. There's something for everyone in both a subtle pattern or going all out. I love the idea of matching Halloween pjs for a movie night.

For Decor & Treats - Ocado

With the current stocking issues at the supermarkets, I wasn't surprised to find it difficult in choosing who would best fit this category. I am not usually an Ocado shopper but through the pandemic and even now, they've been smashing. Cannot praise them enough. Ocado have partnered with Marks & Spencer (M&S) so the decor part of this category is Ocado but the treat side is M&S.
I feel if you are going to have a party, gathering or movies night, having M&S's classic characters in the treats gives you that childhood nostalgia. I also love that they've not completely Americanised the food but experimented, like with this shock corn I am dying to try! The decor range is basic but you can be themed to have it more towards children's cartoon style character, spooky or classic Halloween.

What are your plans for Halloween this year?

As always, thanks for reading...
