CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser With Salicylic Acid // The August Review

Well hello again!

I'm back with another August Review. I haven't had the mindset to blog recently. Unfortunately my health has played up again and I will update on that when I can, but with that situation and the world still in the brunt of the pandemic, I felt a little low.

This years August Review will be a post every other day (except Sunday's) because I haven't delved into too many newer products. Kicking off with skincare...

CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser With Salicylic Acid

The goddess of skincare that is Caroline Hirons, suggested this on her blog, Instagram and This Morning. I usually do not get on with Salicylic Acid as part of a daily skincare routine but found when I do have rougher skin it helps.
The description says:
"Developed with dermatologists, the gel formula of the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser gently exfoliates the skin with Salicylic Acid to smooth dry rough and bumpy skin.
Removes dirt and oil whilst smoothing rough & bumpy skin. Also suitable for keratosis pilaris. Salicylic Acid helps to exfoliate the skin while Hyaluronic Acid retains the skin's natural moisture. Contains 3 essential ceramides (1,3, 6-II) to protect the skin's natural barrier. Free of physical exfoliants, fragrance free and non-comedogenic."

- Affordable.
- Fragrance free.
- Smoothed skin.

- Found my redness became more pigmented (but not irritated).
- Found I had to have a very wet face for it work.
- Had small breakouts it didn't tackle as well as other cleansers.

The Verdict

Overall, I wasn't wowed with this but I wasn't mad at it either, I had such smooth skin.
In the end, I used it up as a second cleanser alongside a serum to tackle the breakouts. For a basic routine of cleansing, moisturising and SPF for the younger demographic this is advertised at, I would say to keep in mind that Salicylic Acid doesn't work for everyone. I personally wouldn't purchase it again with my skin type but do recommend looking at, even if it was to "give a go" because it is so affordable.

As always, thanks for reading...
