The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid // The August Review

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid

This is another purchase influenced by Caroline Hirons and the lovely people in her "Freaks" group on Facebook. I had tried makeup products from The Ordinary before but never skincare, I knew they had a good reputation and are affordable so had very high hopes for this. The product description says:
"Featuring three types of hyaluronic acid (at low, medium and high molecular weights) this lightweight serum offers serious skin smoothing - at a surprisingly small price. Penetrating the skin to reach its deeper layers, The Ordinary's Hyaluronic Acid 2% & B5 delivers lasting hydration and offers visible plumping and moisture retention so that skin looks smoother, softer and healthier. The hyaluronic acid at the center of this super serum attracts up to 1000 times its weight in water, while a brilliant boost of vitamin B5 heals dry and damaged areas by stabilising the skin's barrier function and promoting the growth of stronger tissue."

Pros

- Affordable.
- A little goes a long way.
- Hydrating.
- Skin texture has become very smooth.
- Doesn't leave my skin feeling tight after use.
- It hasn't irritated or flared up the redness on my face.

Cons

-None!

The Verdict

I now know why so many people rave about this product! I respond really well to glycolic acid so I never thought about trying anything else. After reading Caroline Hirons book, I found I could use this alongside my glycolic serum and without it causing any irritation, it became a new step in my skincare routine. It has had the most amazing effect on my skin. It feels smoother, it doesn't dry out or tighten my skin after use and generally I feel I've had less breakouts since using it. It's also as cheap as chips! I 100% recommend this product!

As always, thanks for reading...
