CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser For Normal to Dry Skin // The August Review

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser For Normal to Dry Skin

Purchased in January, I got this to use as a second cleanse and morning cleanse after seeing many recommendations online and on TV shows like This Morning.
The product description says:
"Developed with dermatologists, the gentle, non-foaming gel formula of the CeraVe hydrating cleanser cleanses the skin to remove excess makeup and dirt. With Hyaluronic acid to retain the skin's moisture."

Pros

- Fragrance free meant no overpowering scent.
- It doesn't foam.
- I love the pump bottle style dispenser.
- Good price.

Cons

- It didn't wash away makeup as well as other cleansers, when put to the test.
- I needed to use more product.
- I felt the redness on my face didn't subside like it did after using other cleansers.
- Wasn't as hydrating and my skin was tight after use.
- Felt this didn't tackle my breakouts well.

The Verdict

You can probably tell by the stock photo, that this isn't something I would repurchase again. I hadn't even finished the bottle before feeling this wasn't working for my skin. (Just to note I did use it up!) I am someone who is dehydrated rather than having dry skin but I hoped that this would help it alongside working out everything internally. The biggest con for me was feeling like it didn't tackle breakouts and by that I do mean that I don't think it cleansed my skin well. Very unfortunate it didn't work for me as it widely recognised as a good budget cleanser.

As always, thanks for reading...
