Jeffree Star Cosmetics Jawbreaker Eyeshadow Palette // The August Review

Jeffree Star Cosmetics first palette containing 24 eyeshadows. This was, in my opinion, such an unexpected surprise from the brand. I was excited to see another new launch so quickly as well as a palette this big. Again, another sold by Beauty Bay it is currently priced at £54 and they describe it as;
“A twenty-four-colour pressed pigment palette. This palette is next level rainbow. The Jawbreaker Palette is Jeffree Star Cosmetics’ biggest palette to date, containing 24 matte, shimmer and metallic shades that are highly pigmented and effortlessly blendable. Encased in a pink jawbreaker printed design, this palette looks good enough to eat.  Vegan Friendly & Cruelty Free.”

The Palette & Swatches

Swatches were done with one circular motion across each ones pan, with my finger and swiped once across my skin.

From left to right; Virgin, Good Morning, Bubble Gum, Wow, Such & Liquorice.
From left to right; Cute, F*ck, Gum Drop, Snack, Brain Freeze & Jawbreaker.
From left to right; And What?, Orange Juice, Sour, Soaked, Raspberry & Cotton Candy.
From left to right; Lemon Drop, Bite Me, Cherry Wet, Tasty, Cone & Delicious.

  • The most well thought collection of shades to match the theme of the collection.
  • Soft shadows with such pigmentation, the colour payoff is insane.
  • Lowest price per shadow at £2.25.
  • Long lasting.
  • I am really loving the names of the shades; very Jeffree Star.
  • Perfect for those who want to add colour as it’s so diverse.

  • None.

The Verdict

When I budget for toiletries and beauty items I always put a little bit more away each month where I can for two reasons; to bulk buy for when products I always use go on offer and for surprise launches. I was so happy that my birthday was around the time of the launch and I was able to pick this up.
Already buying two Jeffree Star palettes this year and loving them I was not fazed when paying £4 more for this palette because I knew I was getting a high quality product. This actually works out to have the lowest price per shadow in comparison to the Blood Sugar and Blue Blood palettes and yet the size of product has not changed.

With the Blue Bloods palette I was talking about how I never usually go for lighter or pastel eyeshadows as I am quite pale. I was so drawn to this as the tones of those shades were different than what I’ve seen before and paired with the darker ones included I just fell in love.

Were you surprised by the Jawbreaker palette? Is this one you would purchase?

As always, thanks for reading…
