Jeffree Star Cosmetics Blue Blood Eyeshadow Palette // The August Review

Released this year, the highly anticipated Blue Blood palette by Jeffree Star Cosmetics is another sold on the Beauty Bay website. Described by them as;

“An eighteen-colour eyeshadow palette. Displayed in an opulent mirrored case, Blue Blood Eyeshadow Palette contains a variety of cool-toned matte and metallic shades. Highly-pigmented and effortlessly blendable, this striking palette can be used to create a range of icy, wearable looks. Vegan Friendly and Cruelty Free.”

The Palette & Swatches

Swatches were done with one circular motion across each ones pan, with my finger and swiped once across my skin.
From left to right; Culinan, Mintea, Crystal Flesh, I’m Cold, Untouchable & Priceless.

From left to right; Power, Blue Blood, Deceased, Icy tray, Blue Monday & Flourishing.

From left to right; Wealthy, Celebrity Skin, Entitled, Ocean Ice, Cremated & Undertaker.

  • Again, another palette with amazing colour payoff.
  • Soft to the touch shadows with minimal fallout.
  • Great price point, around £2.66 per shadow.
  • Love the choice of shades and the choice of which were to be matte, glitter or metallic.
  • The contrasting teals and purples are great additions to making so many different looks.
  • The coffin style packaging is so on point for Jeffree Star Cosmetics and is again sturdy with a great sized mirror for on the go.

  • The choice of colours won’t be for everybody.

The Verdict

My desire to purchase this was surprising to me. I thought that with having dark brown eyes, blue eyeshadow wouldn’t suit me. I was very wrong. This palette is gorgeous whatever colour your eyes are and I’ve seen it suit so many skin tones too.
Pastel and lighter shades are ones I don’t ultimately reach for being so pale, yet mintea and untouchable are my favourites from this palette and look gorgeous with fluttery eyelashes.

This is another that at price point seems expensive but for the quality of product you are 100% getting your money's worth. When recommending Jeffree Star Palettes I do usually go with the Blood Sugar palette first as it has natural shades but this I would not only recommend to those who love makeup but I’d recommend to cosplayers. There are many characters I see with blue makeup / skin or a dead theme that if you have characters in your repertoire like that this would be perfect.

Would you buy a blue themed eyeshadow palette? Is there any other colour themed palettes you’d like Jeffree Star Cosmetics to do?

As always, thanks for reading…
