Putting Your Own Advent Calendar Together

A couple of years ago I realised my parents didn't have advent calendars and I couldn't remember them ever having one. We have so many traditions that as adults we pass onto our children but we don't carry them on for ourselves. Who said advents are just for Children? With new advent concepts coming out over the years I have brought advents for my parents that were chocolate or beauty / skincare related. There wasn't any particular one either where looking to get so I decided to put my own together for them.
I picked this advent up from Hobby Craft, you can click here to see it. They cost £5 each and if you are new to Hobby Craft you can sign up to the club and receive 15% off your first purchase. They do sell out fast so sign up to emails or check stock in store.
As you can see the advent has a plastic tray that slides out. The door sizes are 6.5cm by 6.5cm except number 24 which you can see is the same height but double the length.
I picked up a couple multi bags of fun sized chocolate as it would fit better into the advent.
I also picked up a couple of these mini jars for my dad as he sometimes enjoys jams with his breakfast
This is how my dads looked. My mums was just full of chocolate but I did double some of her days to make up the same amount price wise. As you can see I left day 24 empty as I put a surprise item in there. I have already given these advents to my parents and told them not to read this post but I'm not saying just in case.

You could put so many items in these advent for a host of different people. Here are just a few:
- Blind Bags / Collectables (Shopkins, Num Noms, Hatchimals...etc)
- Party Bag Toy (Whistles, Small Yo-Yo's, Marbles...etc)
- Jewellery
- Nail Varnish
- Toiletries
- Wax Melts, Votive and/or Small Candles
- Stationary
- Loving Messages
- Jokes
- Jams & Spreads
- Chocolate / Sweets
- Other Food Items (Nuts, Raisins...etc)

I was so happy with how these turned out. They are lightweight a great size and can be inexpensive to put together. They would be great for any age and if you use the one Hobbycraft offer or put yours together another way I'd love to see. You can find and tag me on FacebookTwitter & Instagram

As always, thanks for reading...
