At the end of August last year I set to do another Skin Care Challenge using products from the Boots Botanics range. I decided to extend the 30 day challenge to 60 my skin was going through a lot with my Halloween With Hannah series. I then just carried onto my Holidays With Hannah series and completely forgot to put up a review of the products....whoops. Well here it is, better late than never. I will let you know that a lot of the products ran out over Christmas so they lasted quite a while but since then I've recently had a very basic skincare range. I'm using what I have at hand whilst researching another brand meaning my skin isn't great at the moment, so if you have any brands you'd suggest please leave a comment below!

Why I Picked The Brand

- The brand has some really good reviews on the Boots website which drew my attention.
- I saw it was very affordable with a lot of offers going on.
- There were many ranges under the brand to which I chose the All Bright range as I wanted brighter skin.
- The All Bright range used hibiscus and other active plant extracts and I have heard many good things about plants in skincare.

What Products I Used

From left to right, top to bottom:
Botanics All Bright Purifying Facial Scrub // Botanics All Bright Cleansing Foam Wash // Botanics All Bright 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Solution // Botanics All Bright Cleansing Toner // Botanics All Bright Day Cream // Botanics All Bright Night Cream

All products cost a total of £13.22

Purifying Facial Scrub

Says it contains refining walnut shell to buff away flaky skin while crushed apricot seeds gently wipe away impurities. To be used 2-3 times a week.

Pro's:

- It's a good sized and priced product.
- There was no immediate irritation.
- Worked best when using small circular motions.
- Brightened and smoothed the skin.
Con's:
- Wipes away impurities but doesn't combat them or prevent breakouts.
- The Walnut & Apricot could have been a little chunkier, sometimes it felt too "bitty" from one use to another.

Cleansing Foam Wash

This is a lightly foaming soap free wash that gently lifts away makeup and impurities. Natural AHA's (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) from the flower act as mild exfoliants to help leave the skin smoother and brighter.

Pro's:
- Brightened and smoothed the skin.
- Get better results when using a face brush.
Con's:
- Didn't lather well unless the face and face brush were dripping wet.
- Didn't prevent breakouts.
- When the solution didn't lather in the slightest it made it harder to wash off and left the skin feeling tight.

Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution

The cleansing solution feels as gentle as water on the skin, to dissolve makeup, unclog pores and remove impurities. No rinsing required.

Pro's:
- A little goes a long way with the solution.
- Not harsh on the skin.
Con's:
- Didn't combat eye makeup well.
- Didn't unclog pores as well as others, as I was still having breakouts.

Cleansing Toner

This revitalising toner helps visibly tighten pores and instantly brighten the skin. Skin is left feeling fresher and prepared for moisturising.

Pro's:
- Tightens the skin and closes the pores.
Con's:
- Doesn't brighten the skin.
- Need to use a lot of the product so it distributes over the face evenly.
- It sometimes stings when applied.

Hydrating Day & Night Cream

Both moisturisers say they are rich and rejuvenating with Hyaluronic Acid which has been proven to immediately boost moisture levels. The day cream even comes with SPF 15 for extra UVA protection.

Pro's:
- Both are very hydrating.
- A little goes a long way
Con's:
- If you don't wait for the toner to dry before applying the night cream it can be a little sticky.
- Although a little goes a long way they still run out before it's companion products. I found myself using up the day cream pretty quickly.
- No long term properties.

Overall the range didn't stop, prevent or combat my breakout's and although both moisturisers were very hydrating I still ended up with flaky and dry skin straight after they ran out. This range did not work for me at all and sadly I won't be repurchasing it again meaning I will strive to find something else.

Jennifer Lopez
Singer & Actress Jennifer Lopez made you lose your words in this marigold Giambattisa Valli dress and cape combo. Paired with Jimmy Choo's, this is my favourite dress of the night. The wrap draped over the slit of the right leg hugs her perfectly and the cape is such a beautiful touch. I think this style of dress is going to been seen a lot more with the upcoming award shows.
Lily James
Stunning, Stunning, Stunning! This deceiving dress is by Marchesa and is white, mint, blue and lavender, the colours blend seamlessly to create this subtle, retro, ombré feel. I especially am a fan of the sided neckline, with the small slit from the cleavage to creating a knot and draping it over both shoulders it really elongates the body and gives more definition to the waistline.
Gina Rodriguez
This gorgeous Zac Posen dress is the perfect gown for any red carpet event. The off shoulder neckline is a favourite of mine especially when done with a very rich or dark colour. I love this deep navy and it really compliments her skin tone. In comparison to other gowns of the night, the subtlety of stitching to enhance the shape is so loud and it didn't need to be covered in patterns or rhinestones. Note the way the neckline has this fold over the chest to create shape from the bust to the two line don the front (almost corset like) to pull in the waist. Well Done Zac Posen!
Sam Smith
It's no secret that Sam has been changing his lifestyle to be healthier and it shows! Being nominated for his original song featured in the film Spectre it's no wonder he pulled off this lovely black suit with dickie bow as it's such a bond look. My favourite accent is the white handkerchief in the pocket as well as the shiny lapels and shoes, Classic Hollywood to a T and it's all tied in with the slight quiff to his hairstyle...Perfect.
Michael B. Jordan
This caught my eye in a similar way to Sam Smith's, it's Classic Hollywood with the shiny shoes, lapels and (hopefully) satin dickie bow, but the low waist coat is what stood out for me. Being a tall man it isn't the accessory you'd generally pick as it is designed to elongate the torso but it works so well. I really love the double button detailing at the bottom, makes a very distinct cut off at the hips.

Chris Evans
This man seriously knows how to scrub up well! With his skin tone a dark navy suit will always be a winner but I love the pairing of a white handkerchief and black dickie bow. Very subtle yet contrast pairing which works effectively with the navy. Again shiny lapels and shoes to give off that Classic Hollywood a trend that never dies out but he gives it a very modern twist with the facial hair. My favourite suit of the night.

Those were just a few favourites from this years Golden Globes, if you like this type post then let me know.

There is only one makeup product (that will be released this January) that I am really excited about and it's the Anastasia Beverly Hill Brow Definer.
Anastasia always has products I want to try but this really caught my eye as I love using a pencil to define my brows. The tip is shaped like an triangle so very much like an angled brush with a wider bottom, which means you can use it on the flat side for bulky brows or the tip for thinner definition. It's great it comes with a brush on the opposite side, it makes it a great on the go product. I haven't seen a definite price for this although I know the retractable eyebrow pencil is currently £15.50 which is already pretty pricey but I've found my Soap & Glory pencil has lasted over the last 6 months.

In terms of Beauty tools I am still on the fence of whether to buy the Zoeva brushes. If I buy the silk finish one and love it I'd want the complete set which means I'd repurchase that brush. But when working out prices it's cheaper to buy a set as it works out to over £6 a brush rather than £10-£12 a brush. I have heard rumours that Zoeva will bring out more this year in terms of beauty tools so I may wait and see.
I think in a similar fashion to 2015, 2016 is going to be a good year for family films. There are so many I want to see this year and they included:
Deadpool
Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice
Ghostbusters
Captain America 3: Civil War
Suicide Squad
The Legend Of Tarzan
Zootopia
The Jungle Book
Doctor Strange
The BFG
Alice Through The Looking Glass
Finding Dory
The Secret Life Of Pets
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2
Moana
I Saw The Light
I'm very excited for all of them, particularly the superhero ones as after seeing all the directors and cast I think this era of DC superheroes will do well in comparison to the previous years. I'm also excited to see I Saw The Light as I'm such a Hank Williams / Country Music fan. With the whole genre of country it has to be done well or it doesn't take off and when it comes to portraying traditional artists in particular, that isn't something to mess with so I'm glad that Tom Hiddleston is cast to play Hank as you know that he knows the importance of it all (hopefully that makes sense).

This year will be the year I get my colitis under control because there are so many events I'd like to attend. My top three are IMATS, MCM and the Giants NFL Game in London. I missed out on so much last year so I'm keeping all fingers crossed I'll be able to do more this year.

I had very high hopes for 2015 which didn't really last long due to a Colitis Flare...This year will be a huge step in the right direction so I thought I'd share with you what I want from 2016.

Organise

I have my wonderful Erin Condren which I use almost daily, but I found the way I've organised other aspects of my life aren't as efficient as they could be so I will be changing my room a little bit, scrapbooking everything I've done in 2015 so I can store tickets...etc, sorting out my hard drive and start packing my bag the day before.

Better Skin

My skin has not been the best recently which you will have seen with my 30 day challenges and I realised that it may be the way im cleansing and not the products themselves so as of today I purchased the No 7 Cleansing Brush with an update on that to come soon.

Gym

After my Colitis Flare I stopped going to the gym as frequent to stopping all together so I want to get back into the swing so I can feel fitter, be healthier and ultimately be happier.

Food

I see a dietitian this month as some foods can really upset my Colitis and I find it difficult to try new foods or eat outside my comfort zone. I also want to eat less takeaway / chuck in meals as I found I would rather eat something quick most days after work and that ended up being a microwave meal or pizza.

Blog

I want to update more and create different content. I previously explained that I love so many different things and it may seem a little mish-mash on here but hopefully by the end of January I'll have something down. I will be updating the layout of the blog on Sunday and will create some posts for January but I won't be updating as frequent this month as I want a little down time after a hectic December.

Self Care

I have been told that I take on more than I should in some aspects so I need to learn to say no more and put myself first. I became very very stressed at a few points this year and I found myself unhappy and low and generally in a fed up mood which I don't want to happen as often.

Work

I want this year to be the year I start a career rather than work odd jobs all year and really find my feet so I can save up a little nest egg.

I'd love to know what you decided on being a resolution / goal this year!
