Black Friday Tips, Tricks & Truths // Holidays With Hannah

I know that Black Friday is more of an American thing but over the last couple of years the UK has adopted it. Some people say that if you wait until Boxing Day for the best deals then you are doing it all wrong and that it is in fact Black Friday where you'd get the best bargain.

Britain is expected to spend over £1 Billion this Black Friday and I thought I'd share some tips, tricks and truths with you.

1) Just because it's a bargain doesn't mean you need it. What's the point in picking up something you won't wear or that will clutter.

2) If you want to shop online find which retailers are doing Black Friday and create accounts for the ones you'd buy from to make things easier.
3) When shopping in store please, please, please don't push, yell or create chaos there is no need for it and after seeing videos on YouTube of some retailers last year, it's made me hate crowds even more.
4) If it's not marked as a Black Friday deal then it's not! Don't go haggling with staff behind counters we can't do anything about it, it's not our decision.
5) To follow from point 4 if we are out of stock, then we are out of stock. No we can't promise you that price the next time, no we can't give you something similar on the same offer if it was going to be a Black Friday offer it would have been included.
6) If there are offers online that say online offer only, don't come into store and try and get the same offer, to be honest that's probably the worst thing I deal with in store.
7) When shopping online always check how much P&P is and/or how much you'll have to spend to get free delivery as sometimes it isn't worth it when your paying £5.95 delivery.
8) Amazon will probably have to most deals as they do a timed format where they'll release a couple of offers at a certain time of day. A quick tip, if you know what's coming on offer then see how much it is already and you can judge if it'll be a good bargain or not. For example buying branded products will have a minimum 10-15% off and unbranded may get up to double that off.
9) Harness social media as some local or small businesses may have their own deals/bargains.
10) Sometimes you may be able to use other discount codes on top but that doesn't always happen!

Are you going Black Friday shopping? I'd love to know what bargains you picked up and how your experience of the day was. You can find me on Twitter & Instagram or use the hashtag #HolidaysWithHannah.

As always, thanks for reading...
